Gaelic is found in schools as a medium of tuition and as a second language. Part one of these guidelines offers advice concerning pupils who are in Gaelic medium classes or are fluent speakers of Gaelic in bilingual schools; Part two offers advice concerning pupils who are learners of Gaeli and Part three offers advice apposite to both. The guidelines will help headteachers and principal teachers of Gaelic to undertake a systematic review of the provision made in each school or department, and to adjust and develop programmes of work along the lines suggested.
